Properties of High-Energy Solar Particle Events Associated with Solar Radio Emissions
We have analysed 58 high-energy proton events and 36 temporally related near-relativistic electron events from the years 1997 - 2015 for which the velocity dispersion analysis of the first-arriving particles gave the ...
The broad-band properties of the intermediate synchrotron peaked BL Lac S2 0109+22 from radio to VHE gamma-rays
The Major Atmospheric Gamma-ray Imaging Cherenkov (MAGIC) telescopes observed S2 0109+22 in 2015 July during its flaring activity in high-energy gamma-rays observed by Fermi-Large Area Telescope. We analyse the MAGIC data ...
Numerical confirmation of the existence of triple collision orbits inside the domain of the free-fall three-body problem
We performed numerical orbit integrations of the equal-mass free-fall three-body problem. We provided numerical evidence of the existence of triple collision orbits concentrating on the shape of triangles formed by the ...
Polarization and Spectral Energy Distribution in OJ 287 during the 2016/17 Outbursts
<p>We report optical photometric and polarimetric observations of the
blazar OJ 287 gathered during 2016/17. The high level of activity,
noticed after the General Relativity Centenary flare, is argued to be
part of ...
Authenticating the Presence of a Relativistic Massive Black Hole Binary in OJ 287 Using Its General Relativity Centenary Flare: Improved Orbital Parameters
Results from regular monitoring of relativistic compact binaries like PSR 1913+16 are consistent with the dominant (quadrupole) order emission of gravitational waves (GWs). We show that observations associated with the ...
Overlong simulations of the solar system dynamics with two alternating step-lengths
We compare the performance of four symplectic integration methods with leading order symplectic corrector in simulations of the Solar System. These simulations cover 10 Gyr. They are longer than the astrophysical predicted ...
Multi-wavelength characterization of the blazar S5 0716+714 during an unprecedented outburst phase
Context. The BL Lac object S5 0716+714, a highly variable blazar, underwent an impressive outburst in January 2015 (Phase A), followed by minor activity in February (Phase B). The MAGIC observations were triggered by the ...
The 34S/32S isotopic ratio measured in the dust of comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko by Rosetta/COSIMA
<p>The isotopic ratio 34S/32S has been measured in cometary gas for a few comets, but it has only been measured in cometary dust by stardust.
The dust measurements find a value of the ratio that is consistent with
the Vienna Canyon Diablo Troilite value of 0.0442 within errors, but
there is more spread in the values from cometary gas. In this paper, we
present the result of measurements of the sulphur isotopic ratio in dust
from Comet 67P/Churyumov–Gerasimenko with the COSIMA instrument aboard
the Rosetta spacecraft. We find a result of 0.0463 ± 0.0057, which is consistent within errors with the terrestrial value.</p>...
Observations of Sagittarius A* during the pericenter passage of the G2 object with MAGIC
Context. We present the results of a multi-year monitoring campaign of the Galactic center (GC) with the MAGIC telescopes. These observations were primarily motivated by reports that a putative gas cloud (G2) would be ...
Detection of persistent VHE gamma-ray emission from PKS 1510-089 by the MAGIC telescopes during low states between 2012 and 2017
Context. PKS 1510-089 is a flat spectrum radio quasar strongly variable in the optical and GeV range. To date, very high-energy (VHE, >100 GeV) emission has been observed from this source either during long high states of ...
