Tiivistelmä
This study investigates the individual fiber post retention with short fiber-reinforced composite resin to dentin. The study compares the effect of wetting treatment on fiber post bond strength and whether short fiber-reinforced composite resin is better than particle-filled composite resin. The aim of the study is to determine if individual fiber posts could be cemented in the root canal with short fiber-reinforced composite resin in the future.
The study data was generated in the summer of 2020 at the Turku Clinical Biomaterials Centre, where samples were created under in-vitro conditions. Push-out testing was used to measure the bond strength, and the bond was examined with light and electron microscopes. The data was processed and analyzed in the spring of 2021.
The study results indicate that short fiber-reinforced composite resin is a potential material for cementing individual fiber posts. Wetting the fiber post surface did not produce a significant difference. However, more research is needed before short fiber-reinforced composite resin could be used clinically. Tutkimus käsittelee yksilöllisen kuitunasta kiinnittymistä juoksevalla lyhytkuitulujitteisella muovilla dentiiniin. Tutkimuksessa verrataan onko kuitunastan kostuttavalla käsittelyllä vaikutusta sidoksen voimakkuuteen ja onko lyhytkuitulujitteinen muovi parempi kuin partikkelilujitteinen. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on selvittää, jos tulevaisuudessa yksilöllisiä kuitunastoja voitaisiin sementoida hampaan juurikanavaan lyhytkuitulujitteisella muovilla.
Tutkimuksen data on luotu kesällä 2020 Turku Clinical Biomaterial Centressä, jossa näytteet luotiin in-vitro -olosuhteissa. Sidoksen mittaamiseen käytettiin push-out -testiä ja samalla sidoksia tarkasteltiin valo- ja elektronimikroskoopeilla. Data on käsitelty ja analysoitu keväällä 2021.
Tutkimuksen tulokset osoittavat lyhytkuitulujitteisen yhdistelmämuovin olevan potentiaalinen materiaali yksilöllisten kuitunastojen sementoinnissa. Kuitunastan pinnan kostutus ei tuottanut merkittävää eroa. Lisää tutkimusta tosin tarvitaan, jotta mahdollisesti lyhytkuitulujitteista yhdistelmämuovia voitaisiin aloittaa käyttämään kliinisesti.
