Pathways to MoRe Reading for Pleasure

Abstract

<p> <span>The main aim of the project was to develop, test and evaluate differentiated and </span><span>personalized</span><span>strategies for fostering reading for pleasure for children aged 9 to </span><span>12 that would be based on the previously conceived typology (i.e. the reading </span><span>profiles) of these young students, and carried out by trained reading motivators </span><span>– </span><span>public librarians. The project was set up as a collaboration of academic/research </span><span>institutions, public libraries and primary schools. The core project team consisted </span><span>of an interdisciplinary group of experts, coming from the fields of sociology, library and book </span><span>studies, psychology</span><span>, methodology, pedagogy, children’s literature and literacy.</span> <br></p>
