outdoor environment in early childhood education

Abstract

Plenty of research focus on the importance of play in early childhood education context. However, little research on outdoor play has been mentioned in late twenties. That is the motivation for this paper which contributes to the understandings of outdoor environment to children’s development. In this paper, culture plays significant role in shaping outdoor environment in early childhood education. It may motivate and demotivate outdoor play. Besides, outdoor environment is advantageous to children’s well-being. More importantly, there are barriers that leads to recession of outdoor activities.
