Luottamuksen rakentuminen varhaiskasvatuksessa : Kodin ja varhaiskasvatuksen välinen yhteistyö lapsen aloitusvaiheessa

Abstract

Tutkimuksessa tarkastelin, miten luottamus rakentuu kodin ja varhaiskasvatuksen välillä lapsen aloittaessa varhaiskasvatuspolun. Keskeisenä ajatuksena oli ymmärtää, millaiset tekijät tukevat tai haastavat luottamuksen syntymistä. Tarkastelin myös, miten vanhempien sekä varhaiskasvattajien näkökulmat täydentävät toisiaan. Tutkimukseen osallistui sekä vanhempia, että varhaiskasvatuksen opettajia. Vanhempien kokemukset tarjosivat henkilökohtaisen näkökulman lapsen sopeutumiseen ja arkeen. Varhaiskasvattajien havainnot kertoivat ammatillisesta näkökulmasta ja useiden lasten kokemusten pohjalta. Näiden kahden näkökulman yhdistäminen mahdollisti monipuolisemman ymmärryksen luottamuksen rakentumisesta. Aineisto kerättiin haastatellen ja analysoitiin laadullisella sisällönanalyysillä. Tulokset osoittivat, että luottamus rakentuu monella eri tavalla. Arjen vuorovaikutustilanteiden kautta, tunnekokemusten ja konkreettisten toimintatapojen kautta. Vanhempien kokemuksissa aloitusvaiheessa esiintyi usein epävarmuutta, haikeutta ja jännitystä. Tämä korostaa luottamuksen emotionaalista merkitystä. Varhaiskasvattajien sensitiivisyys, yksilöllinen huomio lapsiin ja avoin viestintä tukivat luottamuksen syntyä. Tilanteet, joissa vanhempia ei kohdattu tasavertaisesti voivat horjuttaa luottamusta nopeasti. Varhaiskasvatuksessa luottamuksen vahvistaminen edellyttää tietoista ja pitkäjänteistä vuorovaikutusta perheiden kanssa. Tällä tavalla voidaan tukea lapsen hyvinvointia, perheen kokemusta varhaiskasvatuksessa, sekä luoda pohjaa toimivalle yhteistyölle.

This study examines how trust is constructed between home and early childhood education during a child’s transition into early childhood education. The primary aim was to identify the factors that support or challenge the development of trust. In addition, the study explored how the perspectives of parents and early childhood educators complement one another. The participants consisted of both parents and early childhood education teachers. Parents’ experiences provided a personal perspective on the child’s adjustment and everyday life, whereas educators’ observations offered a professional viewpoint grounded in their experience with multiple children. The integration of these perspectives enabled a more comprehensive understanding of the construction of trust. The data were collected through interviews and analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The findings indicate that trust is constructed through multiple interconnected processes, including everyday interactions, emotional experiences, and concrete practices. During the initial phase, parents often reported feelings of uncertainty, ambivalence, and anxiety, highlighting the emotional dimension of trust. Educators’ sensitivity, individualized attention to children, and open communication were identified as key factors supporting the development of trust. Conversely, situations in which parents were not treated as equal partners were found to undermine trust rapidly. The findings suggest that strengthening trust in early childhood education requires intentional and sustained interaction with families. Such practices can support children’s well-being, enhance families’ experiences of early childhood education, and provide a foundation for effective collaboration.
