Species identification of entomopathogenic fungi of the genus Lecanicillium by molecular markers

A region of the mitochondrial gene nad1 was sequenced for species identification of entomopathogenic anamorphic ascomycetes of the genus Lecanicillium (former complex species Verticillium lecanii Zimm.Viegas). The analysis of the sequences obtained for thirteen isolates showed their attribution to the species Lecanicillium muscarium and presence of four molecular haplotypes. Further differentiation of the strains within one haplotype is possible basing upon comparison the patterns, produced by RAPD- and UP-PCR.
